Hotel Posada del Hidalgo
Founded in 1564 by Spanish conqueror Don Francisco de Ibarra, the colonial village of El Fuerte is a popular departure for Copper   Canyon rail tours.

The hotel has 54 rooms with three styles. One style is the old high ceilings with 240 Amapa wood beams and two story balconies that are the original bedrooms of the mansion.

Along with beautiful tropical gardens and a swimming pool, it offers 55 rooms and a dining room famous for its fine food, including the popular local crayfish and buttered bass filets.
