Phillip's 26 Glacier Cruise

from Anchorage

The Klondike Express
The Klondike Express
Alaskan Glacier
Your adventure begins aboard the Alaska Railroad as you travel from Anchorage to Whittier for an afternoon of Prince William Sound exploration. You'll board the new Klondike Express and travel over 135 miles into Prince William Sound where you will see 26 "named glaciers" and many more that are unnamed.

Your experienced captain will maneuver his 137-foot, high-speed catamaran to within 400 to 500 feet of towering walls of ice. Then he'll turn off the engines so you can "hear" the glaciers move as well as see the brilliant blues in the ice.

As Mother Nature carves an iceberg off the ice face, you'll have a seat within the warmth and comfort of the inside lounges or a spot on the rail on the observation deck where you can take in the full power of the moment. The expert onboard narration adds depth to each experience and you can enjoy the saloon, snack bar and gift shop in addition to a delicious onboard lunch.

Wildlife is abundant throughout Prince William Sound and you may view sea otters, seals, porpoises, sea lions and whales, bear, mountain goats and bald eagles. Before returning to Whittier, you'll visit a Kittiwake rookery too.

The Klondike Express cruises at 38 knots and has a top speed of 42 knots. Its first-class design provides luxurious comfort and incredible viewing experiences. A video camera and monitors placed strategically throughout the vessel allows close-up viewing of glaciers, wildlife, and marine animals for an unforgettable experience.
