Schedule

-----------------------------------------

Trips can begin on

Thursdays and Saturdays

Mazatlan to El Fuerte
Today you will be picked up from the airport or hotel and transfered to the bus station in Mazatlan, where you will board a comfortable First Class bus for your interesting five hour trip to Los Mochis. Upon arriving, you will be picked up by a private guide and driven to the historic town of El Fuerte, which takes approximately 90 minutes. Upon arriving, you will have time to explore and relax before your real adventure begins in the morning.

El Fuerte to Divisadero
Today your adventure begins in earnest as you board the "ChePe" first class train. You will traverse the most scenic segment of the railroad, climbing from sea level to an elevation of more than 7000 feet. Spectacular rivers, canyons, mountains, and towering cliffs abound in all directions. Upon arriving in Divisadero, you will be transferred to your hotel for the evening. The hotels in Divisadero all provide views which overlook the mighty Urique Canyon.

The views of the three Canyons that comprise Copper Canyon make Divisadero ("The Divide") an unforgettable stop on your trip across the mountains. This area is four times larger than the Grand Canyon and gives visitors many memorable vistas of this pristine mountain wilderness. This line took 111 years to complete due to the financial hurdles caused in part by mountainous terrain and rugged canyons. By the time the railroad was completed in 1961, more than 200 trestles/bridges and 87 tunnels were built.

Dinner is included at your hotel.

Divisadero to Los Mochis
Breakfast and Lunch are included at the hotel before departing at approximately 1pm, heading for Los Mochis. Today you again traverse the most rugged railway in the Western Hemisphere as you descend nearly 8,000 feet through the Sierra Madre Range. Canyon and mountain scenery abounds in all directions. Upon arrival in Los Mochis you will be transferred to your downtown hotel for the evening.

Breakfast and lunch are included at your hotel.

Los Mochis to Mazatlan
This morning, you will be picked up and driven to the bus station where you will board a First Class bus, bound for Mazatlan. Upon arriving, you will be met by one of our drivers and driven to your hotel, or the airport, if you are flying out that night (which we don't recommend).
