Chihuahua
Your journey begins when you arrive in Chihuahua and are met by our English speaking guide. You are then transferred to your Chihuahua City hotel for the evening. There is a five hour bus transfer available from El Paso that can accommodate an array of flight arrival times.

Chihuahua to Divisadero
Your day begins bright and early at 5:15 am as you are transferred from your hotel to the train station to board the First Class ChePe train en route to Divisadero. The scenery gradually changes from a dry and relatively flat desert landscape to that of scenic mountains and valleys, as you climb from an elevation of 4,600 feet to more than 8,000 to crest the Sierra Madre Range. The hotels in Divisadero all provide views which overlook the mighty Urique Canyon.

The views of the three Canyons that comprise Copper Canyon make Divisadero ("The Divide") an unforgettable stop on your trip across the mountains. This area is four times larger than the Grand Canyon and gives visitors many memorable vistas of this pristine mountain wilderness.

Dinner is included at your hotel.

Divisadero to Creel
Breakfast and Lunch are included before departing at approximately 2pm. You will re-board the ChePe train for a short ninety minute trip to Creel, the shopping and excursion center of the Copper Canyon. After checking into your hotel you are free to relax or do some exploring on your own. Creel is the shopping center and trading center for the region, offering everything from handmade musical instruments to pottery and jewelry. Creel is also the tourism center of the region, with optional trips to the famous Cusarare waterfall, Basihuare Canyon, the Mission, La Bufa Canyon, Recohuata Thermal Springs, and the highly recommended two-day extension to Batopilas - a thrilling journey to the bottom of the canyon.

Note: If you are interested in extending your already magnificent journey by traveling to the canyon floor please click here for information about the Batopilas Extension.

Creel to Chihuahua
Your days begins at 10 am with a private tour of Creel, including stops at a Tarahumara community, the Arareco Lake, Mushroom Valley (known for its dramatic rock formations, the Ignacio old Mission (a Tarahumara church), and a Tarahumara cave.

We will then continue in a van towards the city of Cuauhtemoc, where we will visit a Mennonite community where you will enjoy a traditional light lunch. We will also visit a Mennonite Camp. After this interesting stop, we will continue on to Chihuahua.

Chihuahua
The tour comes to a close as you are transferred to the airport for your trip home and we say “adios!”. Transfers to the Chihuahua bus station can also be accommodated as well as a motorcoach to El Paso, TX.

Prices
This trip can be booked starting on Wednesday, Friday, or Sunday.. Please note that holiday and peak season dates tend to book up well in advance, which is why we recommend making your reservations six months or more in advance of arrival, if possible.
