-----------------------------------------

Trips begin on

Tuesdays / Thursdays / Saturdays

Chihuahua
Your journey begins when you arrive in Chihuahua and are met by our English speaking guide. You are then transferred to your Chihuahua City hotel for the evening. Five hour bus transfer available from El Paso can accommodate an array of flight arrival times.

Chihuahua to Creel
Your day begins at 9 am, where you will be picked up by our private van driver for an interesting road trip to Creel. On the way, we will stop at a Mennonite Community where you will enjoy a light lunch, which traditionally includes cheese, jam, bread, cookies, tea, and coffee. Then we will continue on to Creel.

Upon arriving Creel, you will enjoy a tour of the town with interesting stops at majestic places like Arareko Lake, Mushroom Valley, The Mission, Tarahumara Caves, and other interesting sites.

Creel is the shopping center and trading center for the region, offering everything from handmade musical instruments to pottery and jewelry. Creel is also the tourism center of the region, with optional trips to the famous Cusarare waterfall, Basihuare Canyon, The Mission, La Bufa Canyon, Recohuata Thermal Springs, and the highly recommended two-day extension to Batopilas - a thrilling journey to the bottom of the canyon.

Note: If you are interested in extending your already magnificent journey by traveling to the canyon floor please click here for information about the Batopilas Extension.

Creel to El Fuerte
The adventure continues today, as you re-board the ChePe Train for your unforgettable trip to El Fuerte, climbing to an elevation of more than 8,000 feet before descending to sea level. This line took 111 years to complete due to the rugged terrain of the Sierra Madre Range, and financial problems. More than 200 trestles/bridges and 87 tunnels were required to complete the task.

Upon arriving in the colonial town of El Fuerte, you will be transferred to your hotel for the evening. We recommend eating onboard the train before arriving, as the dining room at the hotel tends to close early.

Note: We highly recommend adding an additional nights lodging in El Fuerte to give you time to explore this fantastic, tropical town with lots of history.

El Fuerte to Divisadero
Today you get to do it all over again on your return trip to Divisadero, climbing from sea level to an elevation of more than eight thousand feet. Spectacular rivers, canyons, mountains, and towering cliffs abound in all directions. Upon arriving in Divisadero, you will be transferred to your hotel for the evening. The hotels in Divisadero all provide views which overlook the mighty Urique Canyon.

The views of the three Canyons that comprise Copper Canyon make Divisadero ("The Divide") an unforgettable stop on your trip across the mountains. This area is four times larger than the Grand Canyon and gives visitors many memorable vistas of this pristine mountain wilderness.

Dinner is included at your hotel.

Divisadero to Chihuahua
Breakfast and lunch included at the hotel before departing at approximately 1 pm by road, taking approxmately five hours. Upon arriving Chihuahua, you will be transferred to your hotel for the evening.

Chihuahua
The tour comes to a close as you are transferred to the airport for your trip home and we say “adios!”. Transfers to the Chihuahua bus station can also be accommodated.

Dates & Prices
This trip can be booked for any day depending upon availability, That being said, holiday and peak season dates tend to book up well in advance, so we recommend making your reservations six months or more in advance, if possible.
