Arrive Los Mochis

Note: If you are considering driving to the Copper Canyon, you will want to drive to Los Mochis and park your car in the secure parking lots adjacent to the hotels as you will not find secure parking at the train station

Los Mochis to Divisadero
Your journey begins bright and early this morning as you depart Los Mochis at 6 am on the Ferromex First Class Chepe Train. Today, you will traverse the most rugged railway in the Western Hemisphere as you climb more than 7,000 feet through the Sierra Madre Range. You will be surrounded by canyon and mountain scenery abounds in all directions. You will arrive at approximately 3:24 pm.

The views of the three Canyons that comprise Copper Canyon make Divisadero ("The Divide") an unforgettable stop on your trip across the mountains. This area is four times larger than the Grand Canyon and gives visitors many memorable vistas of this pristine mountain wilderness. This line took 111 years to complete due to the financial hurdles caused in part by mountainous terrain and rugged canyons. By the time the railroad was completed in 1961, more than 200 trestles/bridges and 87 tunnels were built.

Dinner is included at your hotel

Divisadero to Los Mochis
Today you have plenty of time to explore the area before boarding the ChePe Train for your return trip to Los Mochis, again traversing the most rugged railway in the Western Hemisphere as you descend over 7000 feet through the Sierra Madre Range. Canyon and mountain scenery abounds in all directions. Upon arrival in Los Mochis you will be transferred to your downtown hotel for the evening.

Breakfast and lunch is included at your hotel

Depart Los Mochis
Your Copper Canyon adventure comes to a close this morning as you check out of the hotel and are transferred to the airport or bus station for your travel home or onwards.
