Please read the following information carefully as the terms and conditions described herein constitute an agreement between you and those who provide the service. If you decide to travel with Rocky Mountaineer Vacations™ and make payment on a tour, you thereby agree to accept the terms and conditions of this contract.

 

Reservations
All online reservations are tentative until you receive written confirmation from us confirming that the space is available and the fare (including all fees and taxes).


Railtour and Railtour Packages & Rail/Drive Prices
All prices herein are quoted in U.S. currency. Fare, terms and other information can change without notice.

Canadian Goods & Services Tax (GST)
All prices are subject to GST (presently 5%) which will be added to the invoice upon confirmation of booking. Non-Canadian residents purchasing their Rocky Mountaineer Vacations™ from outside of Canada may qualify for a partial rebate on the GST. This rebate will be applied at the time of booking. Non-Canadian residents who purchase their Rocky Mountaineer Vacations™ in Canada will be charged the five percent GST. A claim for partial rebate on GST can be made with the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency.

Not Included: Two-Day Railtour, Railtour & Rail/Drive Packages
GST (5%) at time of booking, gratuities, alcoholic beverages served on board, meals unless otherwise specified, room service or incidentals, items of a personal nature, hotel incidentals before or after and all other items not specified in the description of the applicable tour contained in this brochure.

Possible Alterations
Rocky Mountaineer Vacations™ reserves the right to cancel, modify or alter all or any part of the services when reasonably necessary or advisable. Should this occur, Rocky Mountaineer Vacations™ agrees to provide the best alternative reasonably available. Every effort will be made to adhere to the specifics shown herein; however, circumstances may necessitate alteration. Hence, all fares, schedules, itineraries, hours of arrival and departures, and special programs are subject to change without notice at any time.

Supplier's Liabilities
Rocky Mountaineer Vacations™ and Armstrong Group acts as an agent for and makes arrangements with airlines, hotels, bus lines, and other independent parties to provide you with non-rail travel services and accommodations. Although great care is taken to choose suppliers, we are unable to directly control them and, therefore, we are not responsible for their acts or omissions. The travel services provided by these suppliers are subject to the conditions imposed by the suppliers and their liability may be limited by their tariffs, conditions of carriage, international conventions and agreements.

Company Liability
Rocky Mountaineer Vacations™ and Great Canadian Railtour Company Ltd., and their respective officers, directors, servants and agents, are not responsible for any claims, losses, damages, costs or expenses whether direct or indirect, arising out of injury, accident or death, loss, damages or delay of baggage or other property, or delay, inconvenience, loss of enjoyment, upset, disappointment, distress or frustration, whether physical, mental, or otherwise relating to the provision of railtour operations, travel services and accommodations.

Special Needs/Disability Requirements
Rocky Mountaineer Vacations™ will make every effort to meet any special needs or requirements of our disabled guests. Most of the trains have wheelchair accessible coaches. Please inform your reservations sales agent at the time of booking if any assistance is required.

Passport/Visa/Health Regulations
Passports: If traveling from outside of Canada you will require a passport for entry into Canada and appropriate ID for all family members.

US Citizens require one of the following: a passport or proof of birth/citizenship and picture ID. However, we do recommend a passport.

We also recommend that you obtain your passport well in advance of your intended departure date to avoid any last-minute inconvenience.

Visas: Check with your travel agent.

Health Regulations: There are no vaccination requirements for international travelers into Canada.

Baggage
Passengers traveling on Rocky Mountaineer Vacations™ are limited to two suitcases per person, in addition to the carry-on overnight baggage required for the RedLeaf® Service two-day railtour portion of the package. Total weight not to exceed 66 lbs (30kg).

Gratuities
Gratuities are not included in railtour or package tour prices for the onboard attendants, driver-guides, transfers, hotel porterage or Red Caps. It is however, acceptable to recognize good service in a tangible manner.

Child Rates
Child rates apply to children aged 2-11 years inclusive and are based on the children sharing the same hotel accommodation (room) as their accompanying adult. This trip is a minimum of two, eight-hour days onboard the train which may be long for some children.

Reservation Policies: Deposit
Deposit must be received at the time of booking to confirm your reservation. If you have booked any additional tour (in addition to those specified) with your two-day railtour, please note that we require the package deposit rate.

Two-Day Railtour & Stop-Over Packages: $263 USD per person.
Railtour Packages & Rail/Drive Packages: $368 USD per person.

Rocky Mountaineer and Alaskan Cruise Vacation Package: $788

Rocky Mountaineer Whistler Sea to Sky Climb: 100% of payment due


Final Payment
Final payment must be received 60 days prior to the date of departure. American Express, MasterCard,VISA, JCB, and Diners Club are acceptable forms of payment. Final payment must be in the same currency as the deposit.

Insurance
We strongly recommend that you purchase cancellation insurance to protect your holiday investment. Please inquire at the time of booking.

Note: Insurance premiums are non-refundable and must be purchased at time of deposit or final payment. Insurance is strictly cancellation insurance and only covers you if you cancel due to any medical emergency, illness or death within your immediate family. It does not cover pre-existing conditions. Rocky Mountaineer Vacations™ is acting as an agent for the insurance company, therefore, all claims are to be made directly with the insurance company.

Should you upgrade the total cost of your Rocky Mountaineer Vacations™ holiday after the purchase of your insurance, let our Reservation Sales staff know if you wish to also upgrade your insurance coverage. There is no reduction of the insurance premium should the cost of your tour decrease.

Credit Card Bookings
For payment by credit card, please have the following information available:

  • Name as on credit card
  • Address of the credit card owner
  • Type of credit card
  • Expiration date
  • Full credit card number

 

 

Late Bookings
Late bookings are welcome up to the date of departure. At the time of request, a credit card guarantee of full payment is required. Late bookings require a minimum of 24-48 hours to request and confirm availability. Upon confirmation full credit card payment will be processed.

Itinerary Changes
A fee per booking (not per person) will be assessed to each change made to the itinerary once the original booking has been confirmed. Phone in changes directly to 503-292-5055.

A change fee will not be administered for an addition or upgrade of service. For a change in train departure date, refer to cancellation penalties. If there are any charges incurred by Rocky Mountaineer Vacations™ as a result of changes made, they will be applied to the booking in addition to the change fee. Change fees are subject to 5% GST.

Documentation
North American Passengers: In order to receive your travel documents prior to departure, final payment must be received in our office 60 days prior to departure. Your documentation package will be sent upon receipt of full payment. If a booking is made within 30 days, documentation will be at the train station on day of departure for two-day railtour or at the first-night hotel for railtour packages and rail/drive packages. Overseas Passengers: Documentation will be at the train station on day of departure for two-day railtours or at the first night stay hotel for railtour packages and rail/drive packages.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation & Changes
Immediately contact RailsNW by phone (1-800-717-0108) and notify them of the change or cancellation. No refunds will be made due to airline delays, unused services, or other acts beyond the control of Rocky Mountaineer Vacations™ or Railsnw.

Transportation Connections:
Please arrive at departing train station a minimum 30 minutes prior to boarding time to ensure your baggage is checked and your travel documents are in order. We recommend that you not make onward travel arrangements the night of arrival at your destination. Train travel in Canada is subject to unforeseen delays and departure and arrival times cannot be guaranteed. Rocky Mountaineer Vacations™ will not be responsible for missed connections.

Pets
Please note that all pets or animals (excluding guide dogs) are prohibited from traveling onboard Rocky Mountaineer Vacations™.

No Smoking
There is no smoking onboard the train or in the stations.

Please note: RedLeaf® Service passengers will not have access to their luggage for the duration of the two-day railtour. Please pack an overnight bag for your stay in Kamloops hotel. GoldLeaf® Service passengers' luggage will be delivered to their hotel in Kamloops.
