Itinerary
El Paso – Chihuahua
Depart El Paso by bus. Buses leave hourly throughout the day and is a five hour transfer time. A private driver will meet you and transfer you to the bus depot from the airport or any El Paso area hotel. Upon arriving in Chihuahua you will be met by an English speaking driver who will transfer you to your hotel for the evening. If you arrive in Chihuahua early enough, take some time to explore the city and take in the sights of this historic location.

Chihuahua – Creel
This morning you will head to Creel via private vehicle with a stop in the Mennonite Community for a light lunch and a tour of the area. The Mennonites are a group of Christian Anabaptists, historically known for being one of the only peace churches and committed to nonviolence. They are also extremely well known for their delicious and creamy cheese!

Upon arrival in Creel you will be transferred to your hotel for the evening. Relax and enjoy this amazing mountain town!

Transfer to Batopilas
This morning you will begin your 5-6 hour journey down the mountainside to the gorgeous, hidden town of Batopilas. Enjoy the scenery along the narrow road as it winds past Indian villages and spectacular scenery of this remote region.

Upon arrival at the bottom of the canyon you will be transferred to your hotel. Enjoy a peaceful evening under the stars in this ancient locale.

Free day in Batopilas
Explore this amazing little community that hasn’t changed much since the 19th century. Today would be the ideal day to hike to the “Lost Cathedral” along with all the other sites there are to be seen in this unique little mining town.

Transfer to Creel
This morning you will bid farewell to your adventure at the bottom of the canyon as you transfer back up the mountainside to Creel. Upon arrival in Creel, check into your hotel and take this opportunity to get a massage, shop for fine silver jewelry, or just enjoy a margarita!

Creel – El Fuerte
The true adventure begins today as you re-board the ChePe Train for your unforgettable trip to El Fuerte, climbing to an elevation of more than 8,000 feet before descending to sea level. This line took 111 years to complete due to the rugged terrain of the Sierra Madre Range and financial problems. More than 200 trestles/bridges and 87 tunnels were required to complete the task.

Upon arriving in the colonial town of El Fuerte, you will be transferred to your hotel for the evening. We recommend eating onboard the train before arriving, as the dining room at the hotel tends to close early.

El Fuerte
Today you have the entire day to relax, explore, and enjoy the amazing colonial city of El Fuerte. You will be lodging within blocks of the downtown city Plaza lined with beautiful palm trees and artwork. There is a variety of shops and cafes to enjoy, along with the El Fuerte Museum and Municipal building lined with fascinating murals.

This afternoon you will enjoy a leisurely River Float tour down the El Fuerte River, where you will encounter numerous types of birds and plant life that are native to this tropical environment. You will also have the chance to see the ancient Petroglyphs carved into the rocks that line the river.

El Fuerte – Cerocahui
The adventure resumes this morning as you re-board the "ChePe" first class train for today’s destination of Cerocahui! Today you traverse through a chunk of the most scenic segment of the railroad, climbing from sea level to an elevation of more than 6200 feet. Mountains and canyons stretch as far as the eye can see.

Upon arriving at the Bahuichivo train depot, you will be shuttled about 45 minutes to the most scenic mountain village in Northern Mexico - Cerocahui. You will transfer to the Mission Hotel, which is located in the heart of this historic hamlet, for an amazing stay. After lunch, you will go on a 3.5 hour long Urique Canyon tour, which includes stops at the highest overlook readily available to tourists, a cave home, a rancho, and the Virgencita Spring.

Lunch and Dinner included at hotel.

Cerocauhi – Divisadero
After breakfast you will re-board the ChePe train for your short trip to Divisadero, which is the crown jewel of the region. The views from the rim of the canyon are breathtaking. The lodge is situated near the rim of the mighty Urique Canyon, providing wonderful views that extend for miles. Optional side trips available in the area include canyon tours, horseback riding, jeep tours, and helicopter rides. The hotels in Divisadero all provide views which overlook the mighty Urique Canyon.

The views of the three Canyons that comprise Copper Canyon make Divisadero ("The Divide") an unforgettable stop on your trip across the mountains. This area is four times larger than the Grand Canyon and gives visitors many memorable vistas of this pristine mountain wilderness.

Breakfast and Dinner included at hotel.

Divisadero – Chihuahua
Breakfast and lunch included at the hotel before your departure in the afternoon for Chihuahua. This morning you have time to do some exploring on your own before re-boarding the ChePe train after lunch. Upon arriving Chihuahua, you will be transferred to your hotel for the evening.

Chihuahua – El Paso
It is time to say “adios.” Transfer to El Paso by bus. Buses leave every hour and upon arrival in El Paso you can be transferred to the airport or any El Paso area hotel.
